The inaugural cinema salon for I Hear You Like Movies transpired this January 19th, 2020! An eclectic band of wildly intelligent filmmakers convened at Kevin's cottage, which crackled with a fireplace and carnivore's-paradise-charcuterie-platters. (Kevin can now pronounce the word charcuterie, carrots were also involved).

Highlights of the evening included an energetic discussion of what makes an action sequence gripping and realistic (John Wick 3), a debate about whether Uncut Gems has a likable protagonist (there seems to be a gender divide), an argument for why Rocketman is a better movie than Bohemian Rhapsody (despite making a tenth of the gross), and Tara gave a surprise dance introduction to the theme song of Stranger Things Season 3.
In a fortuitous coincidence, Robert presented the series Watchmen unbeknownst that fellow salon guest Christian was/is the actual conceptual costume designer for the series! Christian talked a bit about his process and we obsessed about our favorite Watchmen costumes.

About I Hear You Like Movies
I Hear You Like Movies is a a series of cinema conversation salons dedicated to people who love and work in film. We created this event series to provide a safe forum where filmmakers like us can fine-tune our taste and enjoy a support network of thoughtful, open-minded peers.
Each cinema salon features a different topic related to the industry. Guests present a film, series, or auteur of their choosing and a healthy debate ensues.
